Chorus software is used by most UK forces and all counter terrorism units

The company behind the digital data analysis tool used my most UK forces and all the counter terrorism units have won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for outstanding innovation.

Chorus Intelligence software gives police users the ability to cleanse, combine and connect call data, ANPR and device downloads and visualise the information in an intuitive way to generate lines of enquiry

The system can provide instant mapping of call data using cell sites to assist with locating wanted people, identify strongholds, co-conspirators and vehicles of interest.

Especially for cases involving sexual misconduct or domestic abuse, Chorus can be used to search all SMS messages, Whatsapp and other online chat to identify key words and phrases that could prove pivotal in cases whilst satisfying disclosure requirements.

The software can also been used in County Lines inquiries to attribute numbers and devices to subjects and keep a master phone database up-to-date.

On winning the award Chorus CEO Boyd Mulvey said: “I must give thanks to our customers for their continued support and belief in Chorus and their feedback that drives our development. We will continue to work side-by-side with them to deliver solutions that enable them to do their job more efficiently and effectively and achieve their goals.”

The Chorus platform includes the ability to link to many other software tools allowing a collaborative approach to policing, enabling them to ingest all digital data and share it across departments and police forces

Mr Mulvey told Police Oracle that the company has launched a new system Chorus Capture which is a platform for ingesting all types of digital data during an inquiry.

The platform is currently ‘live’ in a number of forces and integrates the company’s existing product portfolio and IBM’s i2 product suite.
