Careful what you wish for. Mini-competence usually just means everyone is knackered overworked and demotivated. I’ve worked in several forces; under various models and the Jack of all trades response/investigations model is the least effective.

Given the state of the country, the fact our MPs had six weeks off, came back for a week then gave themselves a ten day mourning period out of respect for the late Queen, the least they could do is cancel the politics/media junket called conference season. Nobody needs it.

I have just given up my public order ticket. Don't want it anymore as I am sick of having every weekend off cancelled whilst the office dwellers who also have the same qualification never get cancelled but are always free for overtime during weekday matches. No thanks.. I will keep my rest days.

Another argument for a dedicated national paramilitary police force trained and equipped for such duties.
