Met launches phoneline for victims to access case information
I'm confused. What sort of information would these victims need or want, over and above any details supplied by an IO? I was always a great believer in garnering contact email addresses, as well as giving out mine, so that any updates could be given even when I was on nights etc, and so that the victim would have something in writing to which they could refer. Keeping victims in the loop is great but this announcement sounds like unnecessary self praising.
So how will you know if a telephone enquiry is genuine, and not a news reporter or malicious?
